New Delhi, January 21: Ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, a list of election schedule is going viral on WhatsApp. The message claims that it is being prepared by the Election Commission of India, which has been leaked. LatestLY Fact Check has found the election dates to be misleading as the election schedule is not yet prepared by Election Commission of India. After the research, it was found that the list is actually the schedule for the 2014 general elections. Viral Message

Meanwhile, on January 17, the Election Commission directed Delhi chief electoral officer to ask the police to launch a probe into the matter and investigate "fake news" of general elections poll schedule which is circulating on social media. The EC has also asked the police to take action the unidentified person under the various sections of rumour mongering in Indian Penal Code.
