Lucknow, May 5: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Sunday countered Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remark that Indian National Congress and Samajwadi Party were using her, with a strong message of unity. She said that Congress, which is not a party of SP-BSP-RLD allaince, will get every alliance vote in Raebareli and Amethi. “He (PM Modi) tried everything in his might to destroy the ‘mahagathbandhan’. In keeping with his ‘phoot daalo, raj karo’ strategy, he said several erroneous things at his election rally in Pratapgarh yesterday. He wants the SP-BSP-RLD to fight with each other. His motive is to mislead our party workers,” Mayawati was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. Mayawati is 'Gundi' of Uttar Pradesh, Says Brij Bhushan Singh.

She also accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress of being “chips of the same block”. “People of the country know that we have not allied with the Congress party because we believe that both BJP and Congress are ‘ek thali ke chatte batte’ (chips of the same block)," said Bahujan Samaj Party supremo.

She, however, said that the alliance gave support to Congress in Raebareli and Amethi Lok Sabha seats as they wanted both tallest INC leaders to fight off and weaken the BJP and RSS in the country.

Meanwhile, voting in both Raebareli and Amethi will take place in the fifth phase of 2019 Lok Sabha elections on May 6. Out of 80 parliamentary seats, 39 seats went into the poll in the first four phases. The remaining constituencies (41) will go to the poll in the next three phases scheduled on May 6, May 12 and May 19.
