Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Candidates List: Samajwadi Party Releases First List of 6 Candidates For UP, Mulayam Singh Yadav to Contest From Mainpuri

The Samajwadi Party on Friday released the first list of candidates for the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Lucknow, March 8: The Samajwadi Party on Friday released the first list of candidates for the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The list consists names of six candidates. According to the official list, Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav will contest from Mainpuri seat. SP's decision to release the first list comes after the Indian National Congress (INC) released its first list for Lok Sabha polls. Samajwadi Party Leaders Tight-Lipped Over Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Statement on Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha.

In addition to Mulayam Singh Yadav, SP has fielded Mulayam's nephew Dharmendra Yadav from Badaun seat and Senior SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav's son Akshay from Firozabad. In Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are contesting polls together. Later, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) also joined the BSP-SP mahagathbandhan (grand alliance).

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Indian National Congress (INC) released the first list of 15 candidates from seats in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. According to the list, Congress President Rahul Gandhi from Amethi and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will contest from Rae Bareli seat.
