Local Train Status in Mumbai: Trains on Harbour Line Between Airoli And Thane Halted Due To Rail Fracture

Mumbai, July 4: Train services on Mumbai's Harbour line were affected on Wednesday due to rail fracture between Airoli and Thane railway stations. According to tweets, three trans-harbour line trains have stopped back to back between Airoli and Thane, giving commuters a harrowing time during peak hours.
The rail fracture issue comes a day after Mumbai witnessed three railway related mishaps on Tuesday - the Andheri bridge collapse, fire at Mira Road Ticket Window and Fire at Virar Railway Station.

On Tuesday, rail traffic in Mumbai Western line took a massive hit after a section of a bridge at Andheri collapsed at 7. 45 AM. At least five people were injured in the accident, bringing train services of the Western Railway to a halt.
Office-goers were the ones who paid the brunt during the rush hour on Tuesday as they couldn't reach their workplace on time. Union Railway minister Piyush Goyal has, however, ordered an inquiry into the incident and directed officials to expedite the repair and traffic restoration work.
Train services on the harbour route were restored after completing restoration work at Andheri on Tuesday, The first train for CSTM from Andheri left at 14.15 hrs, bringing relief to stranded commuters.
In wake of the accident, the Western Railway had also made arrangements for refund of tickets of passengers travelling by long-distance trains which were cancelled.
