‘Lizard Biryani’ in Chennai: Family of 5 Including 2 Children Suffer From Food Poisoning After Eating Biryani With Dead Lizard in Food Parcel, Probe Launched

The family bought the parcel of biryani from a shop at Ambedkar Nagar in Korukkupet on Saturday night. Later, they had the biryani for dinner. To their surprise, the family was shocked to find a dead lizard in the food. Soon after consuming the biryani, all five members of the family started vomiting.

Chennai, October 1: In a shocking incident in Tamil Nadu, a family of five people, including two children, allegedly suffered food poisoning after consuming biryani. Police officials said that the family fell ill after they ate biryani, in which they allegedly found a dead lizard. The alleged incident occurred on Saturday, September 28, in Tamil Nadu's Chennai.

Accoridng to The Hindu, the family bought the parcel of biryani from a shop at Ambedkar Nagar in Korukkupet on Saturday night. Later, they had the biryani for dinner. To their surprise, the family was shocked to find a dead lizard in the food. Soon after consuming the biryani, all five members of the family started vomiting. Soon after they fell ill, the family was rushed to a nearby private hospital where Jayanthi (52), Swathi (25) and Saranya (32) were treated as outpatients. On the other hand, the two children, Raswant (6) and Raja (4), were admitted to the hospital for food poisoning. In a separate incident, a Class XI girl was allegedly abducted, gagged and gang-raped by three people, including two juveniles, near Thalambur on Friday night, September 20. After the incident came to light, the police arrested all suspects, including 23-year-old Sundar, who was remanded to judicial custody. On the other hand, the minors were sent to a correctional home in Chengalpet.
