The Supreme Court will hear on July 8 a batch of pleas alleging paper leaks and irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET-UG) 2024 examination held on May 5. The pleas are listed before a bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra.

At least 27 people were killed and several others were injured in a stampede at a religious congregation in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Etah, said the incident occurred at a "satsang" in Pulrai village. "Twenty-seven bodies have arrived in Etah hospital. Among those killed are 23 women, three children and a man," the official said.

A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan died allegedly by suicide in the Dwarka North police station area of Delhi. According to police, upon receiving the PCR call regarding suicide on Monday, IO along with the staff of PS Dwarka North reached the place of incident i.e. CISF Camp, Dwarka Sec-16, Delhi where a man was found hanging from a tree with a plastic rope. He was later identified as Ct. Siva Prabhu.


Mumbai, July 2: Several INDIA bloc MPs, including Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, protested in Parliament premises on Monday, July 1, against the alleged misuse of probe agencies by the government to "target" opposition leaders. The INDIA Bloc MPs held placards reading "Stop misusing agencies to silence opposition" and "BJP mein jao bhrashtachar ka licence pao" during their protest. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the revised results for the NEET UG 2024 re-exam that was undertaken by 1,563 candidates.
