Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo Chandrababu Naidu is all set to take oathas the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on June 12, the CMO informed on Saturday. “Swearing - In ceremony will be held @ 9.27 AM on 12th June, 2024 near Kesarapalli IT Park, Gannavaram, Krishna District,” CMO's official X handle posted.

Four state employees in Jammu and Kashmir have been terminated by LG Manoj Sinha due to their links with Pakistan's ISI and terror outfits. The termination followed an investigation that provided incriminating evidence against them, collected by law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina became one of the first distinguished guests to set foot in New Delhi for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Sunday, June 9. At the CWC meeting in Delhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said he would fail in his duty if he did not acknowledge the INDIA Alliance partners. Kharge said each party played its designated role in different states and contributed to the other. "INDIA bloc allies worked as a team, must remember we can defeat any opponent with diligence, determination," Karge said at the CWC meet.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially started the process of holding Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. "The commission has decided to accept applications seeking allotment of common symbol under Para 10B of election symbols (Reservation & Allotment) order 1968 for the General Election to the legislative Assembly of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect," said Jaydeb Lahiri, Secretary of the ECI.

New Delhi, June 8: President Droupadi Murmu formally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to form the next government and begin his third successive term as Prime Minister. This follows the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) Parliamentary Party electing him as its leader. The new government will be sworn in on Sunday, June 9, at 7:15 PM, according to an announcement by Rashtrapati Bhavan.

In response to the Lok Sabha poll results, Congress has convened a working committee meeting today at 11 AM at its headquarters, chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, to discuss the election outcomes.

Meanwhile, Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has requested Devendra Fadnavis to continue as Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister despite his recent resignation due to the party’s poor performance in the state during the elections. Fadnavis met Shah on Thursday to discuss the BJP-led NDA’s performance in Maharashtra and was advised to resume his duties until further discussions post Modi’s oath-taking ceremony.

The Mahayuti, as the NDA is known in Maharashtra, faced significant electoral setbacks, with the BJP securing only nine Lok Sabha seats, down from 22 in 2019. The Shinde-led Shiv Sena won seven seats, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP won only one. In the 2019 elections, the BJP-Shiv Sena coalition had won 41 out of 48 seats in the state.
