New Delhi, June 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Lok Sabha election results as a triumph for the world's largest democracy, expressing gratitude to party workers. He confirmed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to form the government for a third consecutive term.

According to election results and trends, the NDA is projected to secure 296 Lok Sabha seats, while the INDIA bloc is expected to win 229 seats.

Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters, Modi declared, "This is a victory for 140 crore Indians. There are various aspects to this victory. Since 1962, this is the first time any government has come to power after completing two terms." PM Narendra Modi Wins Varanasi Lok Sabha Election 2024, Defeats Ajay Rai by Margin of Over 1.5 Lakh Votes.

Modi, reflecting on the personal significance of this election, said, "After my mother passed away, this was my first election. The mothers and sisters of the country have given me inspiration. Together, we Indians will take the country forward." He promised that in its third term, the country would embark on a new chapter of significant decisions, with a focus on eradicating corruption. Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 Constituency-Wise Winners List: State-Wise List of Winning Candidates From BJP, Congress, TMC, DMK, AAP, TDP and Other Parties in India General Elections.

"Today, India is taking everyone along. A strong Bharat will become a powerful pillar of a strong world. The NDA government, irrespective of parties in states, will work along with them," Modi added.

In contrast, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reacted to the results by stating that the country has clearly indicated its opposition to Narendra Modi and Amit Shah's leadership. "This is a huge message for Narendra Modi," said Gandhi.

The polling for 543 constituencies began on April 19 and concluded on June 1, spanning seven phases over 44 days, marking the second-longest voting period since the first parliamentary elections in 1951-52.

The outcome of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections presents a sobering reality for the BJP, which appears to fall short of the majority mark of 272, despite the ruling alliance's readiness to form the government. This contrasts sharply with the BJP's dominant performance in 2019 when it secured 303 seats independently, with the NDA crossing the 350-seat threshold.

Significant setbacks for the BJP are evident in its traditional strongholds of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Conversely, the party has made notable strides in states like Odisha, Telangana, and Kerala, indicating a mixed electoral performance across different regions.
