Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday lauded India's high  GDP growth in 2023-2204 and said it underlines robust momentum in the economy which is poised to accelerate further. Taking to X, PM Modi said, "This is just a trailer of things to come." India's economy clocked growth of 7.8 per cent in the January-March quarter, pushing the annual growth rate for FY24 to 8.2 per cent.

The Delhi High Court today, May 31, refused to entertain a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking to prevent the media from disclosing the name of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal in connection with the assault case, as well as the contents of the FIR. Sanser Pal Singh, the petitioner, filed the petition calling for action against news and social media platforms for allegedly disclosing Maliwal’s identity.

A police FIR in Jammu and Kashmir has named 16 Army men, including three Lieutenant Colonels, for their alleged involvement in assaulting policemen inside the Kupwara police station. A video showing a group of soldiers barging into the Kupwara police station on Monday night and allegedly beating policemen had gone viral on social media. In an unfortunate incident in Jammu and Kashmir, seven people were killed, and 28 others were injured after a bus carrying pilgrims fell into a deep gorge in the Akhnoor area on the Jammu-Poonch highway.
