Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attacked the INDIA bloc and accused it of being extremely "communal, casteist and nepotistic". PM Modi also alleged that all parties which are with the Congress are to be blamed for the anti-Sikh riots. He further said that BJP's development model is committed to "nation first" but for the Congress and the INDIA grouping, the only agenda is "family first".

The Election Commission of India today, May 22, issued notices to BJP and Congress over the recent statements made by their star campaigners violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in place for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. The commission said that the utterances of the concerned star campaigners follow patterns and create narratives that can be damaging beyond the MCC period.

Mumbai, May 22: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, May 21, said that as each phase of the Lok Sabha polls is completed, it is becoming clearer that the Narendra Modi government is on its way out and the INDIA bloc will come to power on June 4. He also claimed that Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath abused him in their poll rallies held in Delhi. BJP leader Sambit Patra, who courted controversy for his remarks about Lord Jagannath, issued a clarification and said he was apologetic for his "slip of the tongue".

Patra also said he would offer penance in the name of Lord Jagannath as an apology. The Delhi Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the Swati Maliwal assault case.
