New Delhi, October 18: Chief Ministers from 19 NDA-ruled states gathered in Chandigarh for a crucial meeting on governance issues and upcoming events on Thursday. The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focused on the “Samvidhan ki Amrut Mahotsav,” a celebration of the Constitution. In a post on X, PM Modi shared updates, stating, “We had extensive discussions on good governance and ways to improve people’s lives. Our alliance is committed to national progress and empowering the poor and downtrodden.”

The meeting came shortly after the oath ceremony of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who assumed office for a second term following the BJP’s victory in the recent Assembly elections. Thirteen legislators were sworn into Saini’s new Cabinet, including two women. Meanwhile, former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif urged both India and Pakistan to “bury the past” and move forward as good neighbors. He expressed hope for improved relations following the recent visit of India’s foreign minister to Islamabad for the SCO meeting. Sharif expressed his dissatisfaction with the prolonged pause in India-Pakistan ties, calling for a positive approach to future interactions between the two nations.
