Mumbai, October 14: On Monday, October 14, the Supreme Court declined to entertain a petition challenging the Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor's power to nominate five members to the Assembly on the recommendations of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Later in the night, India expelled six Canadian diplomats hours after summoning Canada's Charge d'Affaires Stewart Wheeler.
