The Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir announced that vote counting for the 90 Assembly constituencies would begin at 8 AM on October 8, with 28 counting centres set up across 20 districts. The CEO confirmed that all Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are securely stored in strong rooms and emphasised that comprehensive security measures, including a three-tier security cover, are in place for the counting process.

Bihar Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav today said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's top officials are not allowing him to speak in public or address the media. "The state government had spent crores of rupees on advertising the event, and District Magistrates (DMs) from across the state had joined via video conferencing. However, the event concluded abruptly without Nitish Kumar speaking to the officials or giving instructions regarding the implementation of the rural development projects," Yadav said on X.

A massive blast outside Karachi Airport in Pakistan on Sunday, October 6,  killed three people and injured at least 17, officials said. Police and the provincial government said a tanker exploded outside the airport, which is Pakistan’s biggest.

 


Mumbai, October 7: On Sunday, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the BJP and said that the party's "double-engine government" only results in "inflation, unemployment, and corruption." Addressing AAP's Janta ki Adalat, Arvind Kejriwal said, "The BJP-led double-engine government is on its way out in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. The double-engine concept has failed nationwide." Kejriwal also said that BJP's one engine broke down in June when they secured 240 seats, and the second engine will fail in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand.
