The Supreme Court will hear several petitions today regarding the controversy surrounding the alleged use of animal fat in the renowned Tirupati laddus. The issue erupted after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu claimed that animal fat had been used in the laddus distributed as 'prasad' at the Sri Venkateswara Temple during the previous YSR Congress administration, led by Jagan Mohan Reddy.


Mumbai, September 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects of INR 11,200 crore in Maharashtra via video conference. His visit to Pune scheduled on September 26 was cancelled due to heavy rains in the city. Prime Minister Modi virtually inaugurated the Pune Metro section from District Court to Swargate, which also marks the completion of the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1).

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, fell ill during a public rally in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district on Sunday. Shortly after the incident, he said that he would not die anytime soon, at least not before defeating Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "We will definitely grant statehood and fight for it, no matter what. I am not going to leave it like this. I am 83-years-old, and I’m not going to die so soon. I will stay alive until we remove Modi. I will listen to you and fight for you," said the 83-year-old Congress chief in the rally.

An encounter broke out between the security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Sunday evening. Acting on a tip-off, a joint search operation was launched by the security forces at Manial Gali area in Rajouri's Thanamandi. There was an exchange of fire between the security forces and terrorists. The area has been cordoned off.

Israel launched strikes at Houthi targets in Yemen on Sunday as the country's Defence Minister Yoav Gallant declared that "no place is too far" for their forces. In a statement, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said that dozens of aircraft, including fighter jets, power plants and a seaport at the Ras Issa and Hodeidah ports in Yemen, were targeted in the airstrikes.
