After a decade of its commencement, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) has achieved a milestone of a total of 53.13 crores PMJDY accounts out of which 55.6 per cent (29.56 crores) Jan-Dhan account holders are women and 66.6 per cent (35.37 crores) Jan Dhan accounts are in rural and semi-urban areas, the Ministry of Finance said in statement on Wednesday.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured a majority in the Rajya Sabha today after nine BJP members and two from allied parties were elected unopposed in by-elections. With this, the BJP’s total in the upper house rises to 96, bringing the NDA’s overall strength to 112.

The NDA now has the support of 119 members, including six nominated members and one independent, ensuring its ability to pass key legislation like the Waqf Amendment bill.

A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll shows Donald Trump's advantage over Kamala Harris on economic issues is shrinking. Conducted from August 23-25, the poll revealed that 43% of registered voters preferred Trump’s approach to the economy, compared to 40% for Harris.

This 3-point difference is within the poll's 4-point margin of error, marking a significant tightening since the previous poll in July, where Trump led by 11 points.
