Pavel Durov, billionaire co-founder and chief executive of Telegram, was arrested at the Bourget airport outside Paris in France on Saturday evening, August 24, for alleged offences related to the popular messaging app. It is reported that Durov was travelling aboard his private jet and was targeted by an arrest warrant in France. Mumbai, August 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Jalgaon in Maharashtra today to felicitate 11 lakh new ‘Lakhpati Didis’ who achieved the mark during the third term of his government. A statement on Saturday said Modi would also release a revolving fund of Rs 2,500 crore that would benefit about 48 lakh members of 4.3 lakh self-help groups (SHGs). He will disburse bank loans of Rs 5,000 crore, which will benefit 25.8 lakh members of 2.35 lakh SHGs, it added.

Chief Minister MK Stalin highlighted that the new policy would enable policewomen to select postings in districts where their parents or in-laws reside, thereby easing the burden of childcare after their maternity break.
A stabbing rampage in which a man killed three people and wounded eight others at a festival in the western German city of Solingen was a possible act of terrorism, an official said on Saturday. North Korea vowed on Saturday to advance its nuclear capabilities, reacting to a report that the United States had revised its nuclear strategic plan.
