Two pilots were injured after a trainer aircraft belonging to a private aviation academy crashed at an airstrip in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district on Sunday, a police official said. The two-seater Cessna 152 plane crashed at around 1.30 pm, possibly due to engine failure, after remaining airborne for 40 minutes, Guna Cantt police station in-charge Dileep Rajoria said.

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence (MND) said that it detected eight Chinese military aircraft and eight naval vessels were detected, and three of the aircraft entered its Air Defence Identification Zone from 6 am (local time) on Saturday to 6 am (local time) on Sunday.

Mumbai, August 11: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the landslide affected areas of Kerala's Wayanad. First, PM Modi conducted an aerial survey over disaster-affected areas in Kerala. Post this, the Prime Minister arrived at Chooralmala, an area that was among the worst hit places during the landslides. PM Narendra Modi was also briefed about the evacuation efforts being undertaken in the area. Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi will release 109 high-yielding, climate-resilient, and biofortified crop varieties at an event at the India Agricultural Research Institute in Delhi today, August 11.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said that PM Modi will also interact with farmers and scientists during the event. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, on Saturday wrote a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over alleged attacks on engineers and contractors in Jalandhar and Ludhiana. In his letter, Gadkari requested the state government to take corrective measures immediately and file FIRs and demanded strong action against the perpetrators. Two army personnel were killed and three others were injured after a gunfight broke out with terrorists at a forest in a remote area in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district.  Officials said the incident occurred at Ahlan Gagarmandu forest in the Kokernag area of the south Kashmir district during a cordon and search operation which was launched following information about the presence of terrorists there.
