Air India has suspended its flights to and from Tel Aviv until August 8 due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. The airline announced the decision today, stating, "In view of the ongoing situation in parts of the Middle East, we have suspended scheduled operation of our flights to and from Tel Aviv with immediate effect up to and including 8 August, 2024." Air India assured passengers with confirmed bookings during this period that they will receive a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges.

Police in Maharashtra's Palghar district have arrested a 25-year-old man for causing the death of a college professor while driving under the influence of alcohol, an official said on Friday. Professor Atmaja Kasat (45) was walking home after the day's work when she was hit by a car within the limits of Arnala Sagri police station around 6.30 pm on Thursday. She suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital but succumbed to her wounds after a few hours.

The Congress leaders took stock of the situation in the area and met the affected people. Speaking to the media after meeting people in Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi said, "It is a terrible tragedy for Wayanad, for Kerala and the nation. We have come here to see the situation. It is painful to see how many people have lost family members and their houses. We will try to help and make sure that the survivors get what is their due. A lot of them want to be relocated. There is a lot that needs to be done here. I would like to thank all those including doctors, nurses, administration and volunteers."

The CBI on Thursday filed its first chargesheet in the alleged NEET-UG 2024 question paper leak case. The chargesheet names 13 people as accused who were allegedly involved in the paper leak and other irregularities. Russian nationals involved in a complex swap of prisoners with Western countries arrived in Moscow late on Thursday and were met at the airport by President Vladimir Putin, Russian news agencies reported.
