In the wake of Cyclone Fani, scores of people have been evacuated to safer places as the worst cyclonic storm- Cyclone Fani is set to hit several parts of the nation including Odisha, Andhra Pradesh among other southern states. The cyclone, which is believed to be the worst cyclone in more than five years, is set to make landfall in Odisha on Friday morning.

The cyclonic storm has raised fears of widespread devastation. According to reports, Odisha along with West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh joined hands with the central government to prepare rescue and relief steps ahead of Cyclone Fani’s expected landfall in Odisha’s Puri district. Cyclone Fani Likely to Make Landfall on Eastern Coast, High Alert in Odisha And Andhra Pradesh. 

In Kerala, the Muslim Educational Society (MES) has banned all face covering attires, a circular issued said.The Kozhikode headquartered MES that runs over 150 educational institutions in the state banned all face covering attires from their campus from the upcoming academic year 2019-20.
