Voting for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections is taking place today. The polling is underway in 59 constituencies across seven states including Delhi. Voting is taking place for 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 10 in Haryana, eight seats each in West Bengal, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, seven in Delhi and four in Jharkhand.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hit out at opposition parties for raising questions on his caste. Attacking Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati's remarks on ‘farzi backward’ and a ‘fake OBC’ leader, PM Modi said that he belongs to 'whatever caste the poor belong to'.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday sent a legal notice to Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) East Delhi candidate Gautam Gambhir. The notice was sent to Gambhir for his tweet against the Delhi CM. In the tweet, Gambhir had said, “I feel ashamed to have a CM like Arvind Kejriwal. You are filth Mr CM and someone needs your very own jhadu (broom) to clean your dirty mind.”

The sixth phase of polling for Lok Sabha elections is underway. A total of 979 candidates are in the fray. Over 10 crore voters will exercise their right to vote in this phase.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend four election rallies in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

The final of the Indian Premier League is going to be played between Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led CSK and Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians at Vishakhapatnam.
