The Defence Research and Defence Organisation (DRDO) on Monday successfully test-fired the Pinaka guided extended range rockets in Rajasthan's Pokhran. The two rockets, which were tested using the guided Pinaka system, succeeded in hitting the 90-km mark.
A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Haryana's Panchkula deferred hearing in the 2007 Samjhauta Express blast case till March 14 after a Pakistani national whose died in the blast moved an application. In the explosion which took place on February 18, 2007, 68 people including 43 Pakistan citizens were killed. However, authorities were unable to identify 15 people. A total of 12 people were also injured in the blast.

With the voices from the political parties raising for simultaneous Assembly polls along with the Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the apex poll conducting body chief Sunil Arora will conduct a meeting on Tuesday to discuss modalities. Earlier, The ECI chief on Sunday had declared that Lok Sabha Elections in J&K would be conducted in five phases, but stated that people would have to wait for Assembly elections for sometime in the state.
