New Delhi, January 9: Seven new political parties on Tuesday sought registration from the Election Commission of India ahead of the 2019 general elections. According to a report by ANI, the new political parties that have sought registration from the election commission are Bhartiya Vikash Dal-United, Loktantrik Jan Swaraj Party, National Awami United Party, Purvanchal Navnirman Party, Rashtriya Janshakti Samaj Party, Sakala Janula Party and Swantantra Party (Jan).

Meanwhile, in West Bengal, train services on Sealdah-Lakshmikantapur Namkhana & Diamond Harbour section were affected as strike supporters have thrown banana leaves on an overhead wire at Dakshin Barasat, Mathurapur between Nischindapur-Kakdwip, Kakdwip-Namkhana on Sealdah-Lakshmikantapur Namkhana section.
