Mumbai, January 7: Twenty-five days after the authorities are yet to reach the miners trapped in a ‘rat-hole’ coal mine, another similar incident took place in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills, killing two people till now, said police. According to the initial report, the latest incident took place at Mooknor in Jalyiah village – five kilometres from the district headquarters. Local authorities came to know about the incident after a local informed them that two people are missing since Friday.
In another incident, Naxals torched three vehicles in Patiamba village and shot dead a man near Malickpada village in Kandhamal district of Odisha on Sunday. The Naxals killed the person under suspicion of him being a police informer. Reacting on the incident, Kandhamal SP said, “We're gathering info. Our force is present at the outpost there&have started the procedure to take action.”
