Mumbai, January 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Surat and Dandi in Gujarat on Wednesday. The Premier will dedicate the National Salt Satyagraha Memorial in Dandi in remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi’s historic Salt March from Sabarmati Ashram to the village of Dandi. The PM in his Surat visit will attend the New India Youth Enclave and lay the foundation stone of extension of the terminal building at Surat airport.

In another news, Bharatiya Janata Party is scheduled to carry a protest rally from West Bengal state headquarters to Dharamtala in Kolkata at 2:30 pm. The protest rally is organised against the lack of democracy in the state and BJP’s national executive Mukul Roy is scheduled to lead the protest march. This reason for the protest rally in Kolkata is against the violence that took place in Midnapore after the party president Amit Shah’s event. Union Home Minister Rajanth Singh had spoken to the CM Mamata Banerjee over the violence and took stock of it on Tuesday.

The Congress government in Madhya Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Kamal Nath, on Tuesday, announced that 1,000 gaushalas would be set up in four months to accommodate nearly one lakh stray cows and progeny. With this, the CM had said that Congress had fulfilled one more poll promise in the state. Adding more, he said that the Rural Development Department would be the nodal agency of the project, while local administrative departments would implement the project.
