Mumbai, January 26: The country is going to celebrate 70th Republic Day on Saturday, and President Ram Nath Kovind would soon address the people from Rajpath. Chief guest for the event – South African President Cyril Ramaphosa – arrived in the national capital on Thursday. Among the significant shift in change would be the introduction of 'Shankhanad' (desi tune) – a martial tune created for the Indian Armed forces – for the first time in the history of Republic India. To make the event successful, 25,000 security personnel have been deployed in Delhi.

In another news, after the CBI booked former ICICI Bank Ltd chief executive Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar and Videocon group managing director Venugopal Dhoot for alleged criminal conspiracy and cheating in the ICICI Bank fraud case on Thursday, Union Minister Arun Jaitley took a swipe on Friday calling it a case of “investigative adventurism” that had digressed from focusing on just the primary targets.

Also, the Maharashtra government on Friday made a major announcement on Friday, citing Lok Sabha elections, has proposed the allotment of prime land in suburban Mumbai for a proposed high-rise for a housing society for journalists. The preferences would be given to journalists who primarily covers the state affairs and politics of Mumbai and Maharashtra, and 50 per cent of the homes would be reserved for them.
