Mumbai, January 24: In a shocking incident, a four-storey under construction building in Ullawas in Gurugram collapsed on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. More than eight people are feared to be trapped under the debris of the building. Three NDRF teams rushed to the site to rescue people, and emergency services have been informed too. Also, the state administration has informed the all the necessary actions are being taken to rescue the people.
Union Minister for Railways and Coal – Piyush Goyal – yet again was made the interim Union Finance Minister, following the delay of return of Arun Jaitley, who has been in the United States for medical check-since January’s first week. Earlier too, Goyal was given the charge to see the Finance Ministry when Jaitley went to the United States for kidney transplant surgery last year. The move by the Centre comes before the Interim Budget to be presented in the Parliament from February 1.
In another news, Congress president Rahul Gandhi appointed his sister Priyanka Gandhi as All India Congress Committee in-charge for eastern Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Seen as a long overdue by the Congress party, inducting Priyanka in the party fold is seen a ‘trump card’ before the Lok Sabha elections. Other than Priyanka, Rahul also appointed Jyotiraditya Scindia as AICC in-charge for western UP.
