New Delhi, January 22: Scores of devotees and saints in Karnataka paid tribute to Shivakumara Swami of Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur. Swami of Siddaganga Mutt, Karnataka’s 111-year-old revered seer was the most influential leader of the Lingayat community. He breathed his last on Monday following protracted illness. As a mark of respect to the socio-religious icon, the state government has declared three-day mourning till Wednesday and holiday for schools, colleges and its offices on Tuesday across the state.
Meanwhile, Interim Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) M Nageswara Rao on Monday transferred 20 officers. The list also includes SP Vivek Priyadarshi, who was handling ACB Delhi unit probing the 2G spectrum scam.
In Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that Seva Kendras at village panchayat and panchayat samiti levels will be again known as Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendras, not Atal Seva Kendras; says, "we wanted to name it Rajiv Gandhi Atal Seva Kendra but on HC's order it'll be named Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra".
