New Delhi, January 21: A massive fire broke out in a 10-storey building situated in Surat's Raghuvir textile market in Saroli area during the early hours on Tuesday. According to the news agency ANI, at least 40 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. So far there are no reports of any casualties.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday announced that her government would follow the footsteps of Kerala and Punjab in passing an assembly resolution against the amended Citizenship Act. Trinamool Congress president, before departing for a visit to North Bengal and Darjeeling where she would be addressing anti-CAA programmes, said her government's resolution would also seek the withdrawal of the contentious citizenship law.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections 2020 in alliance with its Bihar partners, Janata Dal-United (JDU) and the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). According to reports, the saffron party has agreed to give two seats to the JD(U) and one to the LPJ. The BJP will contest on the remaining 67 seats.
