Piyush Goyal on the question if Shiv Sena and BJP will fight polls together said that, "You'll have to go to 'Matoshree' to ask that question. We've given invitation as we're friends and should fight together. We come across Shiv Sena MPs in Parliament also. Discussions are underway. A decision will be taken soon."
Uttarakhand: Death toll due to consumption of illicit liquor in Roorkee rises to 32. Five people have been arrested in connection with the incident. 13 Excise employees have been suspended.
Total 31 liquor traders have been arrested in connection with the deaths that occured due to consumption of illicit liquor. 509 quarters of country-made liquor and 91 litres raw liquor seized from them.
Jet Airways flight 9W 703 from Mumbai to Dehradun was diverted to Chandigarh and has landed safely. The diversion was necessitated due to a technical reason and the diversion was as per procedure.
A further statement by Jet Airways Flight said, "An alternate aircraft was arranged immediately for our guests with a revised departure time. Refreshments were served and guests were kept informed by the airline's staff while they waited. Incident is under investigation and has been reported to the authorities."
Indian Air Force today deployed C-17 Globemaster heavy-lift aircraft to transport 170 people stranded in Srinagar to Jammu. The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed due to heavy snowfall in J&K. Evacuated ppl also included students who have to appear for the GATE exam.
Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma said that, "The party (NPP) took an unanimous resolution to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 and based on that decision a resolution has been passed which will be submitted to the Govt of India to oppose this Bill and not to go ahead with it in Rajya Sabha."
CM Conrad Sangma also added that "National People's Party (NPP) has also decided if the Citizenship Amendment Bill is passed in Rajya Sabha, party will break its ties with the NDA. This decision was taken today at the general body meeting."
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal says, "Congress have always misguided people in the matter of Citizen Amendment Bill but the citizens of Assam are politically sensitive and Congress cannot divert them. Citizens of Assam have always supported BJP and I am grateful to them."
West Bengal: Six Rohingyas were arrested by the Border Interaction Team of 41 Bn, SSB at Panitanki in Indo-Nepal border. They were produced before the Siliguri Court today. Among them two were sent to correctional home while the other four were given police custody.
CM Yogi Adityanath on deaths after consuming illicit liquor: The incidents are unfortunate and investigation will be done. I also had a conversation with Uttarakhand CM on the incident. Strict actions will be taken and culprits will not be spared. The UP CM said that, "these types of incident happened in the past also, where many a times SP workers were involved. Govt has announced Rs. 2 lakhs each to the kin of the deceased and Rs.50,000 each to those who are under treatment as compensation."

The police carried out searches at a place in Kolkata which reportedly has links with Nageswara Rao. It also searched Rao's wife's company Angelina Mercantile Pvt Ltd at Salt Lake.
Unidentified men attacked the car of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi's Narela area, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Friday. Arvind Kejriwal escaped unhurt in the attack. The alleged attack on Kejriwal took place when he had gone to inaugurate development works in 25 unauthorised colonies in Narela.
All the seven convicts in the killing of two youths in Kawal village have been sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court. The seven people convicted were charged with killing two brothers in Kawal village during the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots case. The court pronounced the quantum of their sentences on Friday.
