New Delhi, February 8: Protesters blocked traffic movement in several parts of Manipur on Thursday in protest against Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016. Reports inform that the Manipur People Against Citizenship Amendment Bill (MANPAC) had called for an 'on road mass indefinite agitation' on February 6.

In Uttar Pradesh, BJP Youth wing  wrote to Aligarh Muslim University Vice-Chancellor demanding the construction of a temple in AMU premises; BJP Youth Wing District President Mukesh Singh Lodhi says, "we're giving AMU VC 15 days to reply, or we'll go with thousand of our workers for 'murti sthapana'"

Meanwhile, Masood Hussain, Chairman of the Central Water Commission (CWC), on Thursday said that water conservation should be taken up in mission mode like the Swachh Bharat campaign.

The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India on Thursday proposed to institute annual lecture in memory of late Sukumar Sen,1st Chief Election Commissioner of India. It would be Commission's endeavour to involve a wide cross-section of civil society including political parties, media. The lecture would be delivered by an eminent person from the democratic world, whose contribution for the spread and furtherance of democratic values and ideals is widely known and recognised. After this Lok Sabha election, we'll start the 1st election.
