Delhi Police Joint Commissioner Alok Kumar on Tuesday said that 21 people were injured in Seelampur incident, adding no lathicharge by them on anyone.He said, "Total 21 people injured, of which 12 are Delhi police personnel & 3 are from Rapid Action Force. 5 persons have been detained. 2 police booths have been damaged. No lathicharge was done by police."Adding more, he said, "No bullet has been fired. Only tear gas shells used. Situation is under control now. Some police personnel are injured. 2 public transport buses, 1 Rapid Action Force bus&some bikes damaged during the protest."

New Delhi, December 17: The anger against the new Citizenship Amendment Acr and police crackdown on students of Jamia Millia Islamia University has fuelled nationwide protests, from Kolkata to Mumbai and Lucknow to Kerala. The varsity had turned into a battefield on Sunday, December 15, when police entered the campus and used force, after a violent protest against the new Citizenship law.

Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sharad Arvind Bobde on Monday announced setting up of a two-member panel which would monitor the hearing of rape cases in trial courts. The committee, comprising of Justices Subhash Reddy and MR Shah, has been tasked to assist the hearing of sexual assault cases in the lower courts and ensure their timely disposal.
