Jammu, December 16: Members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO) along with children staged a demonstration on Saturday urging the government to ban the use of animals in circuses. The Jammu and Kashmir Governor administration on Saturday has approved a state budget for the fiscal year 2019-20.
The budget was approved by the State Administrative Council (SAC) headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik to give a massive push to public infrastructure in the state. According to a report by ANI, the budget focuses on boosting sports infrastructure for the youth in the state.
Meanwhile, Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan signed an MoU on counter-terrorism cooperation during the second trilateral ministerial dialogue in Kabul.
French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian, who is on a two-day visit to India, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences for the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Strasbourg in France, and said, 'India stands with France in the fight against terrorism'. Drian briefed the Prime Minister on recent developments in the bilateral relationship, and French perspective on regional and global issues.
