Amid the violent protests in Aligarh Mulsim University and clash with police by the protesters over the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act, the Aligarh district administration suspended the internet in Aligarh. Though the details of suspension of the internet timing is yet to be out, reports are coming that services have been scrapped till December 16, 10 pm.

Aligarh Muslim University to remain closed till January 5 after violence erupted over CAA protests. Earlier the protest escalated in Delhi.

Father George PA, spokesperson of Holy Family Hospital said that they have received about 26 university (Jamia Millia Islamia) students who suffered minor injuries. Most of them have been discharged now. Adding one it said that two police personnel have also been admitted with head injuries, maybe due to stone pelting.

DMRC closed entry and exit gates of another 4 Metro stations amid tense situation. The stations include -- IIT, ITO, Delhi Gate and Pragati Maidan Metro. It had earler closed the entry and exit gates of Sukhdev Vihar, Jamia Millia Islamia, Okhla Vihar and Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh Metro stations. However, it had opened the gates for Ashram Metro station.

DMRC closed entry and exit gates of another 7 Metro stations amid tense situation. The stations include -- GTB Nagar, Shivaji Stadium, Patel Chowk and Vishwavidyalaya, Vasant Vihar, Munirka and RK Puram. It had earler closed the entry and exit gates of Sukhdev Vihar, Jamia Millia Islamia, Okhla Vihar and Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh Metro stations.

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia on Sunday announced that all schools and colleges to stay closed in Okhla, Jamia and New Friends Colony and Madanpur Khadar area of Delhi.

The Delhi Police has denied firing shots at the protesters who were part of the Jamia march against the Citizenship Amendment Act."There has been no firing absolutely. It is a false rumour that is being spread," said Chinmoy Biswal, DCP South East.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia blames BJP behind violence and rampage during Citizenship Amendment Act protests in Jamia. He demanded probe against the accused.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray opened up on Savarkar row in Nagpur. He said, "Our government (Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP alliance) is working on the basis of Common Minimum Programme (CMP), not on the basis of ideology. Our stance on Savarkar is same as before."

Delhi Police detains protesters from outside Jamia Millia Islamia University's Gate no. 1, who were protesting against Citizenship Amendment Act.

It said, "Entry & exit gates of Sukhdev Vihar, Jamia Millia Islamia, Okhla Vihar and Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh are closed. Trains will not be halting at these stations."

Airports Authority of India in association with other organisations is providing food to stranded passengers at Guwahati Railway Station.

MoS PMO Jitendra Singh while commenting on incidents of violence over Citizenship Amendment Act in North-East attacked Congress. He said, "Situation has become comparatively better than before. There are some unscrupulous elements who are trying take advantage of the situation to further their politics, Congress has a big hand in it."

PM Modi says, "Congratulate brothers and sisters of Assam for keeping away from violence, they're making points peacefully".

Internet services suspended temporarily in parts of West Bengal amid protests against amended Citizenship Act.

Coimbatore: The annual temple elephant rejuvenation camp has started at Thekkampatti on the banks of Bhavani river. 28 temple elephants from across the state have arrived for the 48-day-long camp organised by Department of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department.
