Amid the violent protests in Aligarh Mulsim University and clash with police by the protesters over the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act, the Aligarh district administration suspended the internet in Aligarh. Though the details of suspension of the internet timing is yet to be out, reports are coming that services have been scrapped till December 16, 10 pm.

Father George PA, spokesperson of Holy Family Hospital said that they have received about 26 university (Jamia Millia Islamia) students who suffered minor injuries. Most of them have been discharged now. Adding one it said that two police personnel have also been admitted with head injuries, maybe due to stone pelting.

DMRC closed entry and exit gates of another 4 Metro stations amid tense situation. The stations include -- IIT, ITO, Delhi Gate and Pragati Maidan Metro. It had earler closed the entry and exit gates of Sukhdev Vihar, Jamia Millia Islamia, Okhla Vihar and Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh Metro stations. However, it had opened the gates for Ashram Metro station.

The stations include -- GTB Nagar, Shivaji Stadium, Patel Chowk and Vishwavidyalaya, Vasant Vihar, Munirka and RK Puram. It had earler closed the entry and exit gates of Sukhdev Vihar, Jamia Millia Islamia, Okhla Vihar and Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh Metro stations.

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia on Sunday announced that all schools and colleges to stay closed in Okhla, Jamia and New Friends Colony and Madanpur Khadar area of Delhi.

The Delhi Police has denied firing shots at the protesters who were part of the Jamia march against the Citizenship Amendment Act."There has been no firing absolutely. It is a false rumour that is being spread," said Chinmoy Biswal, DCP South East.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray opened up on Savarkar row in Nagpur. He said, "Our government (Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP alliance) is working on the basis of Common Minimum Programme (CMP), not on the basis of ideology. Our stance on Savarkar is same as before."

New Delhi, December 15: Former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah, under house arrest since August this year, will continue to remain away from public life as the administration had extended his detention by three additional months. The five-time Lok Sabha MP, who still represents the Srinagar constituency in Parliament, has been confined to his residence which has been declared a "sub-jail".

With reports of 'violent' protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act in the North-East making the headlines of national media, National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday announced the postponement of Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2019 exam at the cities of Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, Sivasagar, and Tezpur in Assam. Also, the exams have been postponed for Shillong in Meghalaya.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday attacked Shiv Sena and questioned Uddhav Thackeray's party's soft approach on the insult on Savarkar by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Apart from this, Fadnavis also slammed Gandhi for making controversial statement on Savarkar and called his comments 'shameful'.
