On the eve of the Independence Day, President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the nation.

The Indian Army on Tuesday night foiled a major infiltration attempt of terrorists by the Pakistan Army in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir last night. On Wednesday, no sweets were exchanged between BSF and Pakistani forces on Eid as well as Pakistan Independence Day as tensions between the two countries are high following the revocation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.

Parts of the national capital received heavy rainfall today morning. On account of the Independence Day celebration at Red Fort today, the Delhi Traffic has issued an advisory regarding the roads that will stay closed.
