A murdered young woman whose body was found in a house following a shooting in a mosque near Oslo is the suspected gunman's stepsister, Norwegian police said Sunday."Police are confirming that it is the suspect's 17-year-old stepsister that was found murdered yesterday," police said in a statement, after earlier announcing they were treating the Saturday mosque shooting as an "attempted act of terror".

New Delhi, August 11: The flood situation in Maharashtra continued to remain grim with several districts still submerged under water. According to a latest update by ANI, 23 cattle have been rescued in a raid in Shahgunj in  Aurangabad. Sambhaji Pawar, Inspector, City Chowk Police Station said, "We had received info that some cattle were held hostage, 23 cattle were rescued by police. Meanwhile, in Karnataka, the rail transport on the section between Sakleshpur and Subramanya stations has been affected adversely due to landslides and soil erosion on multiple spots. In the wake of the worsening flood-like situation,  Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Saturday sought Rs 3,000-crore aid from the central government for relief works in the state's 14 flood-hit districts. Karnataka has been battered by heavy monsoon rains and strong surface winds since August 1.

In Odisha, freedom fighter Dayanidhi Nayak passed away on Saturday at the age of 95 in Bargarh. According to reports, the veteran leader was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bargarh for age related ailments and was ailing for past one month. He is survived by his only daughter Swarupa Nayak.
