US financier Jeffrey Epstein, indicted on charges he trafficked underage girls for sex, committed suicide in prison, US news media reported Saturday.

He hanged himself, and his body was found Saturday morning, The New York Times and other media said.

New Delhi, August 10:  Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday visited  former Union Minister Arun Jaitley at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) in Delhi. Jaitley is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit after he complained of palpitations and restlessness Doctors said that Jaitley is "haemodynamically stable". Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is on her way to flood-hit Karnataka. "On my way to North Karnataka. Floods are causing severe disruption to our daily lives", Sitharaman said. The State Civil Defence QRT(Quick Reaction Team) carried out rescue operations in flood hit Holealur village in Gadag district on Friday.

On Friday, the United States said that China must stop publishing its "dangerous" media reports involving the American diplomat who met with pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong. "Official Chinese media reports on our diplomat in Hong Kong have gone from irresponsible to dangerous. This must stop. Chinese authorities know full well, our accredited consular personnel are just doing their jobs, just like diplomats from every other country," US State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said in a series of tweets.
