New Delhi, April 6: On the first day of Navratri on Saturday, aarti' was being performed at several temples across the nation. People thronged to Kalkaji temple, Jhandewalan temple in Delhi while scores of devotees gathered at the Mumba Devi Temple in Mumbai on the first day of the festival.
On Friday, heatwave conditions gripped the national capital as the highest temperature reached 39.3 degrees Celsius. This was five notches above the season's average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
