Mumbai records 721 fresh COVID-19 cases, highest single-day spike since January 7. City's infection tally rises to 3,15,751, death toll reaches 11,426 with three new fatalities. There are 5,943 active cases: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

Mumbai, February 17: The World Health Organisation (WHO), investigating the origin of coronavirus in China, discovered evidence that there were 13 variants of the deadly virus in Wuhan by December 2019.
