Finance Minister says decided that there will be a gathering of NBFCs and retail customer in 200 districts between now and September 29. Punjab Cabinet has approved the modalities for distribution of smart mobile phones to the state’s youth, "to pave the way for the implementation of the scheme from December this year." In the first phase, the mobile phones would be distributed to those girl students who do not own a smart phone and are studying in class 11th and 12th of Govt schools in Punjab, in the current financial year.

Former India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh woved to attack Pakistan after the 26/11 terror attacks on Mumbai, revealed former British Prime Minister David Cameron in his memoir.

India's financial capital Mumbai faced the worst terror attack on November 26, 2019, after 10 heavily armed terrorists sailed into the city. Twenty-Six Eleven, as these attacks are often referred to as, witnessed 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists coming to Mumbai via sea route from Pakistan and carrying out a series of coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across the city.

The ghastly attacks lasted for four days killing 166 people and injuring over 300. After sailing to the city under the cover of darkness, the terrorists targeted major landmarks of Mumbai with first attack taking place at the crowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station. Ajmal Amir Kasab and Ismail Khan carried out the attack at this station, killing as many as 58 people and injuring over 100.

India reacted strongly to Pakistan's decision to deny airspace to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's US-bound flight on Wednesday. Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson, Raveesh Kumar, called Pakistan's decision regrettable and highlighted that this was the second such instance when Pakistan denied airspace to a VVIP special flight within two weeks.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced on Wednesday that Central government has decided to ban production, manufacturing, import, export, transport, sale, distribution or advertisements of e-cigarettes. It also made these activities a cognizable offence.

In one of the biggest news of today, in view of the red alert issued for Mumbai and Thane region for today, all schools and junior colleges in Mumbai, Thane and Konkan regions have been declared a holiday. According to IMD estimates, there will be an increase in the rainfall activity in the interiors of Maharashtra between September 18 and 25.

More than 30 transport associations and unions including United Front of Transport Associations have called for a one-day strike in New Delhi today against different provisions of the amended Motor Vehicles (MV) Act.
