New Delhi, November 19: Banking operations at branches will be disrupted this week due to a three-day bank holiday owing to various events. ATMs may run dry by the end of this weekend due to bank holidays. Banks will be closed on November 21 and November 23 due to festivities, and on November 24 as it will be the fourth Saturday of this month. As usual, there will be no operations at bank branches on Sunday, November 25.

A holiday has been declared for Eid-e-Milad-Un-Nabi on November 21 across the country except in Andaman and Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Punjab, Sikkim and West Bengal. Therefore, bank branches won't be operations in these states. A large section of Muslim community celebrates Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. Bank Holidays in November 2018: 13 Holidays During The Month.

On November 23, a national holiday has been declared on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. There will be no holiday for Guru Nanak Jayanti in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Daman and Diu, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Odisha, Puducherry, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Tripura. A bank holiday will be observed in rest parts of the country. Since Kerala is observing Eid-e-Milad on Tuesday, banks will be closed on that day besides Saturday.

A bank holiday is declared across the country on November 24 as it will be the fourth Saturday of November month. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) rules, banks are closed on second and fourth Saturday of every month. People are advised to keep cash in hand as ATMs may run out of cash due to bank holidays coming this week.
