Kanpur, September 8: In a tragic incident, a teenager was killed in a suspected leopard attack in Dhudhwa Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri. The boy was found severely injured by his father in a sugarcane field. This marks the second incident of wild animal attack near Dudhwa.

According to a report published by the Times of India, the incident occurred in Dakhwa village near the Shardanagar range of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve. The deceased boy had gone to relieve himself in a sugarcane field at night. A wild animal attacked him while he was there. Hearing his cries, the boy's father rushed to the sugarcane field. Upon reaching there, he found his boy tremendously wounded, with deadly injuries around his neck. The TOI reported that the leopard was suspected of carrying out the attack on the teenager after forest officials and police found the presence of footprints of the big cat in the sugarcane field. Following this, the officials have advised locals to stay away from the sugarcane fields during evening and early morning hours. The body of the deceased teenager was sent for autopsy. The forest team is patrolling in the area. Earlier this month, a girl, Priyanshi, was attacked by a leopard on Saturday while playing outside her house in Raiganj village in Uttar Pradesh. The leopard dragged her to a field, and by the time villagers reached there, the child had died. A woman also recieved injuries in the leopard attack.
