Jammu, July 15: A landslide struck Sehar Baba region in Jammu's Reasi on Sunday. At least 5 were reported dead by the time this report was published, along with 29 being injured. The casualty toll was feared to rise as some tourists and locals near the Sehar Baba waterfall are reported missing.
The landslide was triggered at around 2:30 pm in the afternoon, local reports said, adding that a major chunk of the casualty was caused at the Sehar Baba waterfall.
The Indian Army has launched a search and rescue operation. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) units have also been deployed, along with the personnel of the Jammu & Kashmir police.

This marks the fifth instance of landslide in the mountain-marred state within a fortnight. On July 5, over 250 passengers got trapped due to massive rock-felling in Poonch district. On July 3 and 4, landslides were reported in Behramgala, which blocked the roadway connecting Poonch to the Valley. On June 29, a landslide blocked the Jammu-Srinagar Highway, leaving scores of vehicles stranded for nearly 18 hours.
