Ranchi, November 17: The health condition of Lalu Prasad Yadav has deteriorated with an increase in sugar level in his body, a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA said on Saturday. According to RJD legislator Rekha Devi, Lalu Yadav can neither sit nor stand as his health condition has worsened. She said the former chief minister of Bihar should be shifted to another hospital for a better treatment.

"Lalu Ji's health has deteriorated, he can neither sit nor stand. His blood sugar level has also increased. We demand that he should be taken to a place where he can get better treatment," Rekha Devi told reporters after meeting the RJD chief at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Jharkhand's Ranchi. Lalu Yadav, a diabetic and heart patient, is suffering from kidney ailments. 'People Often Change After Being Convicted, but Lalu Yadav Did Not'.

Lalu Yadav was convicted in the fodder scam. He was given provisional bail of six weeks in May this year after nearly five months at the Birsa Munda Central Jail where he was serving a jail term since December 23, 2017. Lalu Yadav surrendered on August 30 in a special CBI court of Ranchi. On the same day he was shifted to RIMS from Birsa Munda Central Jail for treatment. Lalu Prasad Yadav Stressed Over Elder Son Tej Pratap’s Decision to Divorce Aishwarya Rai.

In September, Lalu Yadav was shifted to a paying ward of the RIMS as he was having sleepless nights due to the incessant barking of dogs near the super speciality ward of the hospital. RJD MLA Bhola Yadav had said that Lalu Yadav could not sleep due to barking of dogs and it has had an adverse impact on his health.

Lalu Yadav was convicted in two more cases in January and March this year and awarded 14 years imprisonment. In 2013, he was convicted in the first fodder scam case and sentenced to jail for five years. The multi-million-rupee fodder scam had surfaced in the 1990s when Lalu Yadav was Bihar's Chief Minister.
