Mumbai, Sep 18: A clash broke out between volunteers and officers of Mumbai police at Lalbaugcha Raja pandal where thousands of people have been arriving during ongoing Ganeshotsav. In a video, Lalbaugcha Raja volunteers and police officers are seen fist fighting with each other. The brawl at Lalbaugcha Raja was caught in a camera.
In the video that is going viral, a couple of volunteers are seen arguing with cops. The heated argument soon turned into a fistfight. A police officer is seen crossing barricades to take on a few volunteers. The video of the incident is widely shared. Devotees at Lalbaugcha Raja often complain about highhandedness attitude of volunteers who misbehave with the general public.
On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav, Lalbaugcha Raja, the famous Lord Ganesh idol, is installed in Mumbai. The organizers at Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal has been keeping the grand idol of Lord Ganesha for public display since 1934. The 10-day long celebrations will culminate on September 23 with the immersion of Lord Ganesha idols in different water bodies. While several big mandals immerse the idol on the last day, some do the immersion on one-and-a-half day, third, fifth or seventh day.
