Prayagraj, January 11: As Kumbh Mela is just a few days away, all the Akharas are gearing up in the holy city Prayagraj, formerly known as Allahabad, for the shahi snan (Spiritual bath) in the confluence of Ganga, Saraswati and Yamuna rivers. On Friday, the 'Kinnar Akhara' confirmed that they are participating in Prayagraj Ardh Kumbh Mela, 2019. Pavitra, Secretary of 'Kinnar Akhara', while speaking to news agency ANI said, "Public and all the devotees who are here (Prayagraj) have supported us and shown lot of respect for us. Kinnar Akhada, which has not been recognised by the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), was allowed to take out its Peshwai on Sunday. The procession saw one of the largest gatherings ever for any peshwai in Kumbh, the supporters and seers were dancing to the tune of music.
Meanwhile, for the first time in the history of Kumbh artificial intelligence will be used for crowd management. "Over 1,000 CCTV cameras will be used to monitor various movements across the Mela area spread across 3,200 hectares," UP Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Awasthi told PTI on Tuesday. The 2019 Kumbh Mela will commence in Allahabad city of Uttar Pradesh from January 15 till March 4.
