Kumbh Mela 2019 Helps Police Nab Serial Killer Wanted in 10 Murder Cases in Prayagraj, Accused Had Come to Wash Off Sins in River Ganga

Prayagraj, January 28: Kalua Patel alias Sai Baba, a 38-year-old serial killer who allegedly killed at least 10 people in last few months and led the police to launch 'Operation serial killer', was caught by UP police at the most unlikeliest of places: the Kumbh Mela. The police said that the serial killer was found with an axe in his hands which was blood stained. The police added that when the man was nabbed, he was roaming around the Kumbh looking to take bath in the holy river. The police claim that that the serial killer seems to be mentally unsound. He belongs to the Lalapur area of Prayagraj (Allahabad).
Patel has confessed to killing 10 people, all labourers. When the police tried to ask the man about his motive behind killing the labourers, he said that he did so because the victims made fun of his untidy appearance and looks.
The Times of India quoted the SSP of Prayagraj (Allahabad) saying that the police was on a lookout for the serial killer for a longtime. The officer informed that the man was wanted for at least 10 murders in the last six months that took place in the city. He used an axe and killed the labourers by attacking their necks till the victims bled to death.
The SSP informed that Patel used to target labourers who used to sleep on the roads. The SSP added that the confessions made by the killer goes with the murders scene and evidence. The police talking to the daily informed that the man has confessed about the following killings: two labourers on July 4, 2018. One in Daryaganj in November, one labourer in Kotha Parcha area and one in January this year.
