Kozhikode, September 18: In a disturbing incident in Thamarassery in Kerala’s Kozhikode, a woman was allegedly forced by her husband and his friend to perform a nude puja under the guise of resolving family problems and bringing prosperity.

According to a Keralakaumudi report, Shemeer and Prakashan, who claimed to be a tantric, tried to convince the woman that performing the nude ritual would solve her family's issues. When she resisted their demands, they began harassing her. Unable to bear the pressure, the woman eventually approached the Thamarassery police for help. Following her complaint, a police team led by Inspector A. Sayooj Kumar arrested both Prakashan and Shemeer. The accused were produced in court and subsequently remanded into custody. Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
In another incident, a complaint has emerged involving a teacher at an orphanage, who is accused of sexually assaulting several girls.
According to report, around 12 children at the orphanage submitted a complaint alleging sexual harassment and demanding the teacher's dismissal. Despite these allegations, the institution has yet to take any action.
The complaint, initially submitted to a temporary program officer, was forwarded to the principal but reportedly ignored. After a parent reported the issue to Childline and the child protection officer recommended filing a formal case, no action has been taken by Mukkom police.
