Kolkata, May 29: A major fire broke out at a plywood shop in Kolkata's Park Circus area on Wednesday. As many as 12 fire tenders were at the spot to extinguish the blaze. The plywood shop where the fire erupted is located on Rifle Range Road in Park Circus.
The flames reportedly engulfed other nearby shops as well. The cause of the fire was not immediately known. There were no immediate reports of injuries or fatalities.
In a tweet, DCP Traffic Kolkata said "due to a fire incident, roads to Broad Street from Bullygunge Phari and Biresh Guha Street from the western slope of No 4 Bridge were shut for vehicular movements.
