New Delhi, November 30: As over one lakh farmers are protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi to press for their demands for solving the agrarian crisis, Communist Party of India - Marxist (CPI-M) chief Sitaram Yechury hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not been able to fulfil demands of the farmers of the country. While speaking at the protest, “Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Modi and Rashtriya Sawamsewak Sangh (RSS) have only one weapon in hand that is Ram Temple. Earlier in the day, the CPI(M) chief took to Twitter to slam the central government. He termed the Narendra Modi-led government as anti-farmer. Yechury tweeted, “Farmers are here to claim their due. Modi govt, the most anti-farmer ever, must go. They have time for fixing their big business cronies’ problems. Just a deafening silence on farmers. The new govt must implement proper policies that enable our Kisans to recover from the crisis.” Kisan Mukti March Day-2: Farmers Begin March to Gherao Parliament; Chant ‘Ayodhya Nahi, Karz Maafi Chahiye’.

Meanwhile, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister have also reached Jantar Manta, in support of the protest which began yesterday. Earlier, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad also joined the protest. Heavy security has been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident. The farmers are demanding debt relief and remunerative prices for their produce.
